The Self Space – Practitioner Terms & Conditions

By agreeing to work at an event hosted by The Self Space, you acknowledge and accept the following terms and conditions. These are designed to ensure a respectful, aligned, and high-quality experience for all — practitioners, attendees, and event organisers.

1. Independent Practice & Offerings

You understand that The Self Space provides a platform and container for your work, but does not guarantee any specific number of bookings, client interactions, or the success of your offering.

The Self Space will do its part in the promotion of your services. You are welcome and encouraged to engage in your own promotion.
2. Representation & Conduct
-
Please remember that being a part of our collective means you are representing the Self Space — whether you are actively working or not. We ask that you:

Conduct yourself with kindness, presence, and professionalism at all times during the event.

Engage with fellow practitioners, attendees, and event staff in a kind, respectful, and supportive manner.

Remain aware of your energetic impact on the space and those within it.

3. Punctuality & Sobriety
-
You agree to arrive at least 15–30 minutes before your first booking to set up, ground, and be available. We don't want you rushing in or being unprepared while your client is waiting.

You commit to being fully present, punctual, and sober (free from the influence of drugs or alcohol) during all sessions and while in the space (and be discrete with your consumption when not working)

Should you experience any issue that may impact your performance (illness, emergency, etc.), you agree to notify the space manager or event organiser as soon as possible.
4. Space Care & What to Bring
-
You are expected to keep your working area clean, organised, and energetically clear throughout the event.
What the space provides:
-Entire space setup with dividing walls
-Rugs & cushions in each working space
-Decor
-Signage & promotional material
-Booking folder
-Small table / alter in each working space (it will have decor on it but you are welcome to bring your own to add to it)
What you need to bring:
-Any specialty items eg massage table
-Chairs if the cushions on floor comfy vibes isn't for you
-Printed out bio page AND booking sheet (examples below)
-Cash suitable to provide change for your clients (eg if you offer $80 sessions, bring lots of $20s as people will often pay with $50s) --> we always recommend to bring more than you think
5. Client Boundaries & Safety

All services offered must be ethical, consensual, and delivered with the highest integrity.
This includes:-
Respecting the physical, emotional, and energetic boundaries of each client.

Honoring confidentiality of client information and experiences.
-
Avoiding unsolicited diagnoses, personal commentary, or spiritual bypassing.

6. Insurance & Qualifications

You confirm that you hold the necessary qualifications, certifications, and or experience required to offer your service.

You acknowledge that The Self Space is not liable for any injury, loss, or dispute arising from your services, and that you practice at your own risk and responsibility.
7. Money & Payment
-
Practitioners are fully responsible for collecting and managing payments for their sessions and offerings during the event. The Self Space does not take any commission — you keep 100% of your profits. You are expected to:

Clearly communicate your pricing to clients on your info & booking sheets.

Handle payment transactions directly with cash during your session.
-
Ensure the safety and security of your funds throughout the event.

The Self Space is not liable for any lost or stolen money, devices, or valuables.
Each practitioner will be required to: -
Understand and adhere to the ticketing and payment requirements for each event which could include but is not limited to; paying a space holders fee and purchasing a ticket to the event.

The exact amount for both ticket and fee may vary depending on the size, location, and nature of the event. These details will be clearly communicated ahead of time.

8. Event-Specific Agreements

You understand that event-specific logistics (timing, payment arrangements, equipment provided, etc.) will be communicated in advance, and by accepting a spot in any given event, you agree to those additional terms.
9. Alignment & Removal
-
The Self Space reserves the right to remove a practitioner from any event — before or during — if their presence, behaviour, or offering is deemed out of alignment with the values or safety of the space. This will be handled with discretion and care, but our priority is the collective wellbeing.
We deeply value your presence in the space and the unique medicine you bring through your offerings. These terms are here to protect everyone’s experience and allow the magic to unfold with clarity and mutual respect.
By participating in any Self Space event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

MONEY TINGS:
✨Why do you still need to purchase a ticket to the event?
👉Because you are not a volunteer, you have an opportunity to earn income from the event.
✨Why do you need to pay a space hire fee?
👉As with anytime you hire a space to work at, a fee needs to be paid for: the cost of bringing & setting up the space, the fuel costs to the person coming & setting up the space, replacing any lost or damaged items from the space. These fees go towards covering the space set up, admin, curation & expansion.
ðŸ’Think about it this way💅 most events make you work 8+ hours as a volunteer in exchange for a ticket to the event. In your 8 hours working at the space you have the opportunity to make back the cost of your ticket & space hire fee very easily + financial income for yourself! Pretty sweet deal.
The Self Space takes no profit! All money made goes to paying those who bring & set up the space and then straight back into building & improving the business so we can extend our services and impact further ✨🫶✨
We also work this way so that we *do not* take a cut of your profits (that many events do) -so you can keep 100% 💸💸💸
